Education: Graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, 1992, Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Major: Mechanics. Qualification: Mechanic.

In 1996, he defended his PhD thesis, and in 2014, he received the academic title of Senior Researcher. Main works related to aviation acoustics: study of the sound generation process of the interaction of helicopter blades and non-stationary inhomogeneous flow.

P.V. Lukianov is the author of a theoretical model of aerodynamic sound generation (2007), which is based on the Kelvin-Helmholtz theorem. Based on this model, a closed system of equations for the generation of aerodynamic sound in the general case was obtained. This system takes into account thermodynamic changes in the flow, therefore it can be used not only to describe the generation of sound by propeller aircraft, but also for the generation of sound by jet engines. For the numerical solution of problems of aviation acoustics, P.V. Lukyanov proposed a numerical-analytical method.
